Wow. I don’t even know where to begin with this one. Let’s see, first of all, just because you believe that something is offensive, does not mean that every one in the world is going to share in your OPINION. Second of all, yes we all understand that bad things like this happen in the world everyday, but I personaly am of the firm belief, that you should always try to find some laughter in bad situations. I mean it’s a freakin cat for goodness sakes!

Last, but certainly not least, the fact that you claim that anyone who laughes at this picture is a pedophile, is not only sensless, it is completely ignorant. That’s like saying because a girl is wearing pants means that she is in fact a lesbian, or that anyone one who believes in evolution cannot therefor believe in god or of some other higher entity. I do not understand your reasoning behind such a claim, but I am fairly positive that it is both fallacious and asinine.

That being said my personal opinion is that this picture is pretty funny.

And again, I will say that laughing at a picture of a cat with a caption is in no way endorsing pedophilia. I find it sad that i need to explain the fundamentals of “why LOLcats are funny” and the #1 LOLcat website, but here goes: LOLcats make us LOL because they are ridiculous. We laugh not because someone wants a cheezburger, but because a cat wants one. Similarly, the notion of grown men cruising for young girls on Myspace is disgustiong, but when it is a cat, it becomes ridiculous, and thereby funny. Why? Because it can’t happen in real life. Absolutely. Furthermore, I don’t tend to reply to every post by someone who is offended by a pic. What DOES bother me is when someone says “This is offensive and it should be removed.” This is not Nazi Germany…nobody has the right to impose their opinions on anybody else, and in calling for something to be removed because it made them uncomfortable, that is exactly what they are doing.
Humor often deals with uncomfortable subject matter…anybody who can’t handle the subjuect is always free to move on, even to speak out against it. But they have no right to put my enjoyment of a picture at risk by asking for it to be removed.

I, too, think this is really offensive. Yes, 14 is rather old in cat years. But obviously, alot of people didn’t think about ‘cat years’ when they saw this. =/ Kids are victimized by predators all the time, it’s nothing to mock.

This caption is really offensive and needs to be changed.

There are many ways this picture could have a funny caption. “That’s my bank acount balance?!” just to name one.

To everyone who says we are being too sensitive if we are offended by the caption … you probably weren’t molested as a child, or don’t have a child who was molested. Or have zero sensitivity to people who have coped with this kind of tragedy, and therefore have a negative balance in your karma bank.
