Not to be a downer, but when I was a teenager, one of my girlfriend’s had a kitten that accidentally got in the toilet and drowned. Toilets are kind of dangerous for itty bitty kitties.
Even if it is a waterless toilet being fixed I still think it’s sick. The poor thing could have gotten stuck or anything down there, it certainly doesn’t look happy. The discomfort of animals isn’t something I find funny, those who do find that kind of sick humour funny should be ashamed.

b) toilets use CLEAN water, so putting a kitty in the toilet (assuming it’s clean as it should be) is like putting kitty in the sink for a bath
c) that cat won’t fit in a toilet drain, in fact most cats wouldn’t, except for the smallest kittens – which yes, would be stupid to put in a toilet

CLEAN?? Um, no, that toilet looks icky. Just because toilets tend to be cleaner than bathroom sinks does not mean that toilets are clean, it just means that sinks are really germy. honestly, if the picture said something different you guys wouldn’t be getting this upset over it. the fact that it hints that a cat is being flushed down a toilet is just letters on a picture. take it for what it is… a cat… in a toilet… some of the situations cats get into are funny this happens to be one of them. the kitten prolly climbed in there. if you have a cat you know your cats do things like explore all the time. my own cat does silly stuff like climb in boxes and laundry baskets all the time. stop taking stuff so seriously.

Don’t worry, the lil guy is just surprised. Sure, he’s damp, but so what? Kittez don’t like it, but it won’t hurt them. Also, a cat in a shower is just a little way down the row, soaking wet, unhappy but not in danger. This teeny kitteh is in as much danger as the shower cat. If you look on a toilet that shows the path of the water, you’ll notice the hole actually goes back upward towards the tank farther then this lil’ one is tall. There is no way he could fall down and die, it’s all right. He does look pretty scared, but he just jumped up there and slid down all of a sudden, it was pretty surprising. Sweet lil kittenz, they have 4 modes : eating, sleeping, loving, and scared. Kittens get scared a lot. Remember the first time your little cute lil furball saw that piece of string? “What is that! What is it!?”
I think it’s funny. The toilet’s dry and to be honest, falling into a wet toilet doesn’t hurt cats all that much either. My cats do it all the time because they can put their feet on the bowl and lean in…not sure why, seeing as there’s always a bowl of, y’know, hygenic water. Just sometimes they slip and hello wet kitty.
I love them both, but they’re not very smart.

1) NO swirling water: if there was, you’d see it clipping up over his paws
2) Minimal amount of water. The kitteh would have to be headfirst in toilet to drown. This clearly isn’t happening.
3) Head DRY. Take a look people, NO WATER on kitteh’s Face. only paws and back.
4) toilet hole TOO SMALL for kitteh. Ever have to flush more than once? Kitteh is 4x bigger than that. Think.
So all you bleeding hearts posting that this is the most cruel and sadistic thing: get real. Kitty probably wanted a drink and wasn’t expecting a slip’n’slide. Kitty being in toilet is of no fault but kitty’s own.

Someone noted earlier that if the caption was different, nobody would have moaned about ‘ol poor kitty. This is true. A caption of an “I’m in ur…” flavor would have received fantastic results I’m sure. However the second some bleeding heart sees even a fictional reference to a kitty in haphazard situations, its time to throw down!
Theres a difference between fiction and reality folks: The words are fiction, the reality is that kitty went for a drink like MOST kitties do, and someone happened to have a camera this time.
Cruelty is not a factor here, and this image has every right to be here. Think about it: The site creators had to approve of the image to begin with! I guarantee you kitty was scooped out within seconds of the photograph (which took all of a second to take at most). Your harboring of Ill-will and negative presumptions towards humans is hypocritical of your love for living creatures.

Hell my cat is always trying to get into the toilet to drink the water, she falls down and has to get rescued. I’ve taken photos before!! It’s not like everyone enjoys putting their cats in weird places just to get a photo!!

Ok, here’s my theory… they gave the kitten a bath in the sink. They thought the kitten was so cute all wet like that, they wanted to take a picture. Well, the kitten isn’t going to stand around being wet and miserable (as ALL cats are after you bathe them, and I doubt anyone thinks bathing a kitteh is cruel, even though they are absolutely terrified and miserable while it’s happening) so they stuck it in the dry toilet that they had a plumber working on whole they ran and got their camera. The kitten, unable to get a grip on the slippery sides, kinda fall in deeper, and looked up just as they snapped the shot. Once the shot was taken, and much AWWWWing had occured, and the much MEWMEWMEWGETMETHEF***OUTOFHEREHOOMON! from the kitten, the person took the kitteh out and dried it off. And I think the caption comes from the flushing a cat to bathe him joke that was suppose to be told by the family dog…. Hell, I’d do that to my cat if the toilet was dry and I thought he looked so cute. C’mon, cats look so darn cute when they give you that miserable look! At least mine does. It’s not as funny as it’s just cute!

I just lost a 7 week old kitten yesterday when I had forgotten to put the seat down on the toilet before I left for work. Completely heart broken to come home and find him like that. Thought he was dead but then made a tiny noise so I rushed him to the vet. They thought he was going to be ok but he suddenly died after an hour. The guilt that he died such an awful death will always stay with me – please please remember to put the seat down when you have a kitten in the house!!!

um, i am rather weirded out by some of the comments about the owner. i mean seriously: hunting them down? arresting them?
